With the feel of a 1950's book illustration the seashore is a blend of soft greys, blues and ochre. Magie started by building collages with shells, pebbles, star fish and seaweed. The design evolved, the oyster catcher and feather were added and finally she was ready to start painting with wool.

The draughtsmanship in Magie's needlepoints is astonishing. Whatever she stitches comes to life and her designs combine detail and humour. These designs are both charming and original. She has a wonderful eye for colour - soft and subdued but always spot on.
