This design is taken from a wallpaper pattern, Birds and Mistletoe, which Voysey designed in the early 20th Century. His familiar silhouettes of birds are set against strong, eye-catching stripes which don't overpower the design. He manages this with his use of soft, pastel shades. An unusual and very successful combination.
