These splendid designs come from Usbekistan and are based on traditional patterns found on many of their larger 19th century embroidered hangings. Most of these designs from Bukhara and Tashkent cover the surface area in pattern leaving little of the background unstitched. The kits are quick and easy to make and only use three simple stitches. As with our tapestry kits you do not need to be an expert to work them.
The pattern is printed in outline on the fabric. The design is then worked within the outline from a chart. The kit contains a separate fabric panel for backing the cushion.

The kit contains 100% cotton calico fabric for both the front and back of the cushion, Anchor stranded cotton, a photograph of the finished piece, a black and white chart, a needle and instructions.
