Designer Margaret Murton

Botanical illustrations of individual plants both for gardening and medicine date back to the early middle ages. There was no distinction between 'ornamental' and 'useful' plants in the apothecary's garden. They were used for seasoning, dye, fibre, food and medicine. Margaret Murton draws on this tradition of illustration to create her own mix of individual wild flowers in this lovely rectangular design.
