Magie Hollingworth was inspired by Barry Flanagan's sculptures of hares with their exaggeratedly elongated bodies. Magie's leaps joyfully into spring, full of energy and character. The landscape with its meadow of flowers and hill behind is stitched in a glorious mix of subtle shades and shows what a great colourist like Magie can achieve with a canvas and some wools.

The draughtsmanship in Magie's needlepoints is astonishing. Whatever she stitches comes to life and her designs combine detail and humour. These designs are both charming and original. She has a wonderful eye for colour - soft and subdued but always spot on.
